Take That In Your Town: Manchester

The band are currently playing a run of dates in Manchester. Here are some of your suggestions as to what they should do in their spare time.

The best places to go are the Imperial War Museum, the Lowry outlet (it has a Cadburys shop yum yum), Pizza Express (went there tonight), the Trafford Centre, Tai Wu (which is a Chinese restaurant on Oxford Road, it’s very very good).

What isn’t there to do in Manchester? It is the best city in the world. We have the best shopping, Trafford centre and the Arndale the best food, a whole mile of curry for King Nan and China Town for people like me who don’t eat curry.

I would suggest waking up in a lush hotel, (take their pick – there’s the Hilton, Renaissance etc) have brekkie. Then I would go to the MOSI (Museum of Science Industry) maybe then do a bit of shopping down King Street and then the Arndale! Then finish off having tea at the Printworks! And perhaps in between pop in to my work and visit me !!!!

One of the best places for a coffee and grabbing something to eat (I can so recommend the muffins) is Cafe Aromat in the Manchester Craft and Art Centre.

I would say the Manchester wheel at night in one of the VIP pods with champagne, think this would be great

The group will be heading to London next week for their Wembley shows. Post your suggestions of what sights they should see in the Comments area below or the forum.

Have to agree with Sam, venue was rubbish, we had restricted view (but not advised beforehand), couldn’t see the boys on the secondary stage at all until they climbed their ladders!!!!

Anyone know what happened to the huge balloon floating over the secondary stage? It was there on 24th June, but disappeared on 26th June onwards! Did it burst??????????

I saw you live on the 23rd June. OMGAMAZING doesnt go close. After my daughter’s birth and my wedding, it was the “greatest day” of my life. You are all perfect and professional – and soooooooo fit! However, as others have put, there was too much pushing and shoving going on to properly let go and enjoy a good boogie at your songs.
Please please please tour again loads – Ive got the bug now and want to see you again.

Have to agree, please don’t do that Manchester venue again. Not sure I have ever been so wet outside, but didn’t want to loose my spot after standing there for 3 hours. There was an enourmous amount of pushing and shoving which made it really difficult to dance along with the music. However hundreds of plastic bottles all over the floor made dancing dangerous anyway. I was stood very close to the front stage but could still only see the boys shoulders and head, and couldn’t see the main stage at all. I really look forward to watching the amazing dance routines ect but saw none of it, which I was gutted. Music as always was truly brilliant, and I’m sure the show was spectaclar, it was the venue that sucked! Please go back to the MEN Arena next time.

Manchester 27/06/09 LCCC Well what can I say? Brilliant, fantastic and well worth standing in the rain and getting soaked, just to see you guys! You always relight my fire everytime! No Disappointment there! I was 11 when I plastered my walls with pictures and newspaper articles…things have changed somewhat but not my love for your music and you guys! Your all still so cute and gorgeous! Thank you for the super duper show you put on for us all, it was the best you have done yet…where do you get all that energy! I got some fantastic photos of you all which I keep going over and playing the videos…makes me want to see you all of the time, takes me back to my teenage years…and the screamintg hasn’t changed! LOL I’ve been to all of your past concerts and it’s not going to stop at this one!
Thank you for carrying on in the rain, not a lot of artists would do that…you never disappoint hence why you have such a humungous fan base! Shame Gaga couldn’t make it, oh well wasn’t there to see her!
Good luck with the rest of your tour lads, can’t wait for the next one!!!!!
