Take That In Your Town: Coventry

We asked you for suggestions for what the band should do in their spare time whilst in Coventry. Here are some of the great ideas you came up with…

I think they should pop over to Leicester which is about a 30 minute drive and visit The National Space Centre. I would love to show then around as it’s where I work.

I would definitely recommend a Shakespearian visit to Stratford Upon Avon, quite near Coventry. It’s lovely by the riverside and there is an excellent pub called the Dirty Duck by the theatre/riverside – fits with the whole Circus theatrical theme too!

I would show the guys one of the beautiful parks (maybe the Coombe Country Park or the Garden of International Friendship), the Kenilworth Castle, the cathedral, the Council House and (of course) the Skydome.

Hi why not come and visit a group of hard working nurses lots of whom have caused havoc with off duty cos they are all off to the Ricoh arena to see the boys. We work in a children’s unit in the University hospital in Coventry and are an incredibly hard working bunch of lasses (with the odd fella thrown in!!) who look after some amazing kids. We can always guarantee a good cuppa, a nice biscuit or three and lots of smiles and good company. Believe me there are worse things to do in Coventry and a warm welcome is guaranteed.

I think they should go and have a picture with the Lady Godiva statue (providing it’s still there of course, not been into Coventry for a while!), and sell it as a poster on the rest of the tour.
