Take That In Your Town: Cardiff

The band are in Wales right now for two gigs at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium. Thanks for all your suggestions of what they should do in their spare time: here is just a small selection of our favourites…

‘If you want to see the birthplace of the great Tom Jones, that’s just a short drive down the A470 to the valleys town of Pontypridd – it has a fantastic park in the middle of it with an outdoor pool for the kids.’
ClaireD

‘The Pearl of the Orient’ in Cardiff bay does the best Chinese I have ever tasted and they deliver if the boys fancy a take away after the show’
lucy**luvs**TT

‘Horse riding/Pony trekking on the beach at Ogmore – a fab way to spend a couple of hours, on one of the best beaches in Wales’
jayney

‘The boys could go and see the historic Castell Coch (red castle) and then go for a lovely pub meal in the Tynnant up the road. Why not pop into Radyr comprehensive school where they have many fans who need a help getting through their dreaded chemistry GCSE Wednesday morning.’
feffan123

‘Ivor Novello’s birthplace is not far from the Millennium stadium and as Gary is a five time recipient of the award I thought this might be a good idea’
littlemisssunny30

‘In this lovely weather Cardiff Bay is the place to be! Grab an ice cream at Cadwaladers then walk / land train / boat across the Bay (there’s a fab pirate themed park for the children). Bayside Voyages do an excellent speed boat trip, we took my daughter for her 9th birthday and they loved it! The boat seats 11 and you can go for half an hour, an hour or two hours. Then back to the Bay for lunch / afternoon coffee enjoying the view!’
Fairytinkle

On Friday the guys are heading up to Scotland to play three concerts in Glasgow. If you’ve got a good suggestion for how they should spend their free time there then we’d love to hear it! Post your thoughts in the Comments section below or the forum.

Aboslutely Brilliant show – shame the stadium roof wasn’t open would have added to the spectacular day as the sun shine was glorious.
Took us 3 and a half hours to travel home – motorway at a standstill – 1st gear all the way – that was when we were moving!! Worth every minute though wouldnt have missed this for the world.

Can anyone tell me how to post pictures in the archive section for the 16th june please

8th June was outstanding. Words cannot describe its brilliance. The element of surprise was around every corner and the atmosphere was electric. They all looked great, especially Jason (those trousers are NOT too tight ;))

Saw you in Cardiff in’93. Until last Wed it was the best live show i’d ever seen, but OMG! what a show you gave us. My daudhter was 10 months old when I saw you originlly, and my son was’nt even thought of ,but they were both there with me to see you at the Millenium stadium putting on the most spectacular two hours entertainment ever. Cant wait till you come back. Amazing! We also saw Mark getting into his car outside The Plaza Hotel and almost screamed with excitement. Very embarassing for a woman of 45!
