Gary reveals Children In Need gig details

Earlier this morning, Gary joined Chris Moyles live on Radio 1 to announce details on the upcoming Children In Need Rocks show that he's currently organising.

Gary announced the line-up for the show live on air, including the likes of Lady Gaga, Coldplay, JLS, N-Dubz, Ed Sheeran and many more!

Taking place at Manchester's MEN Arena on 17th November, here's what Gary had to say about this special event - "I can't wait to see it all come together on November 17, there are still some great acts we're keeping up our sleeve to announce in the coming weeks and who knows, I might even sing a little something on the night too."

If that wasn't enough, Gary will be releasing a version of Massive Attack's 'Teardrop' for this year's Children In Need, taking place on 13th November, featuring contributions from Wretch 32, Labrinth and Tulisa Contostavlos - forming under the band name, 'The Collective' for the one-off track.

Tickets for the gig will be priced between £55 and £95 and will go on sale right on the BBC Children in Need website at 9am on Friday 16 September.

The work we are doing is beautiful. That the supreme architect of the universe keep them in the palm of your hand.

Gary and management, you have to stop letting people buy tickets to your gigs and sell them on at over TRIPLE face value. It's really unfair, I was going to come up to Machester from London, miss a lecture for this special night. It's a shame people like to ruin it. Fantastic to meet Gary on wednesday but not happy with how some people like to deprive his own fans of watching him live. Fair enough if the sellers were giving the profit to charity, but they're clearly not, it's actually disgusting. Apart from that, I love you Gary and CINR looks like a fantastic line-up and I will be giving some money to the cause this year, my CIN wristband I've had for two years snapped a week before I met you though, typical!

I think it would be an excellent tribute to invite Ultravox/Midge Ure along to this event and perhaps also lend some support for their soon to be released new album. As someone has already posted, Midge has long been involved in raising funds/awareness in this field. Vienna is a classic track and timeless - we shoud keep such great music alive as it has influenced so many over the years. I really hope that Ultravox gain yet more recognition for their new material too.

    Hey Gary,
I know you are an inteligent guy and as such I am appealing to you. In 1984, Midge Ure wrote 'Do They Know it's Christmas' raising awareness and much needed funds for Ethiopia; it would be fitting for Ultravox to be invited to raise money for Children in Need almost 2 decades later. they re-formed 2 years ago and were astonished by the fans response, full giggs, much support etc, they still produce brilliant music and are such nice guys.
Wishing you every success with C in N. I would love to see the concert live but am disabled and on limited budget but I hope you all have fun and it is a great success.

Although unfortunately i won't be able to go im really pleased it's being held in Manchester even though im no where near there. It's just great that something this big and important is not being held in London again. Its about time more things were done around our brilliant country, instead of just in the capital. Well done Mr Barlow.x
