Click below to find out more about Gary Barlow's 40th Birthday Show For Charity...

Take That

Gary Barlow will celebrate his 40th Birthday on January 20th 2011 with a special show at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire for family, friends and fans. The event, titled GB40, will see Gary perform songs that span a fantastic 20 year career in a small and intimate setting with profits from the show going to charity. The concert will provide an exceptional opportunity for a small number of fans to enter a ticket lottery which, if lucky, will allow them to join Gary in commemorating his special day doing what he loves doing best.

Take That have sold over 30 million albums and 7 million tour tickets over the course of their career, with their recent reunion being one of the most talked about events of the last few years. Gary Barlow's contribution to the band, as well as to British Music as a whole has been unquestionable and his reputation as a singer, songwriter, pianist and performer is undeniable.

This time Gary takes to the stage on his own for the first time in over eleven years and will perform songs from his successful career as one of the UK's most distinguished singer/songwriters. He will be backed by a band made up of close friends and acquaintances he's met along the way helping make it a night to remember, with profits from the night going to charity.

Read on below to see how you can get to see this unique one-off show...

1/ Lottery - you will be given a chance to buy tickets through a lottery. Registration for the lottery starts today (Tuesday 14th December 2010) and winners will be selected overnight on Wednesday 15th December. Winners will be informed from 9am on Thursday 16th December. The successful applicants will have until noon Friday 17/12 to buy their tickets (£45 each - limited to a pair per person) after which they will be released. For more information on the lottery page please click here.

2/ Auction - auction sales open at noon on Thursday 16th December and will shut at noon on Monday 20/12. There are tickets on three levels of the venue and the best tickets will be allocated to the highest bidders. More information can be found at the bidding page here.

I was gutted to miss out on the lottery for tickets. Would have loved to have gone. Gary is an amazingly talented songwriter and performer. I watched his masterclass with Zane Lowe and it was great to hear his thought process while writing the lyrics and music to his songs.
If you haven't seen it yet, here is the link. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFBrvs2GCIQ
I'm a year older than Gary, but no wiser. I really hope Gary brings out the DVD for us fans who were not able to attend his 40th birthday concert. Please Gary, if you read this, please please please release a DVD. I will see you in Manchester on the 7th June, I really can't wait. Manly hug.

Enjoyed watching Gary perform at GB40, he was great, couldn't do enough for the fans...Was a bit disappointed, many 'fans' did not know the words to Gary's songs, and too many of them were 'starstruck' by the celebs on the first floor. When Gary's performing for you, you don't keep looking stupidly up at the first floor and ignoring him, if you want to do that...you know where the door is.
When the Gary Barlow fan club shut down many moons ago I used to take the mickey out of my GF, saying it was because she hadn't paid her subscription (as if she was his only fan) it had had to close.
In the 90's it wasn't the done thing for a bloke to 'like' Gary Barlow'...But I have to admit we were missing out on a lot by our predjudices. When he went solo he failed because WE let him down...it is down to us to make sure we do not put this man in the same position again...
In a world of two minute wonders and manufactured 'bands' Gary Barlow stands head and shoulder above the rest for both his creative genius and his real appreciation for his fanbase.
For a man who was once cold-shouldered by both the music industry, and even by us the people who should have known better to get back up and go back at it without bitterness takes something a little extra special.
Gary mate, if you ever read this, I may never know you but it's a real privilege to see you on stage and I wish you every success.

    Happy birthday Gary.

I wasn't lucky in the lottery but did enter the auction, bidding £250 for 2 tickets (minimum bid £100 per ticket). I was today notified on twitter that the official ticket seller See Tickets were selling more tickets at just £45 each!! I went on-line and there they were, I could have bought better seats as well! How can this be? It was either lottery or auction. Really unethical and I'm sure there will people who paid much more than me. It is for a fantastic cause but hugely unfair on those fans who had no option to pay at least £100 per ticket.

im so glad that there is money being raised for charity and i complketely understand that, but what about the real fans who can afford to pay reasonible prices for the exclusive chance to have a close up and personal account with mr barlow himself, but lose the chance to people hwo are loaded just because they can buy tickets for hundeds of pounds. Ive been a fan of the boys (mainly gary barlow) for 20 years, and surely it would be better for the true fans to have the opportunity instead of being snubbed by people who just go because they can afford it..sorry if this offends anyone but i thought it should be said..xxx

Unfortunately,I have not been rewarded in the lottery. My birthday is 20/01 too, and I cannot stop thinking about the brilliant idea that it would be to celebrate my 25 birthdays in such a special show, enjoying GB's incredible voice, which so much I admire.
Sorry about my english, is not very good.

Hi, I didn't got tickets in the lottery and I'm so sad. Is there anyone who doesn't need or use his/her ticket? Or has anyone an idea how to get one ticket? I don't wanna buy about ebay or other offers which maybe are not serious and too expensive. Please contact me, if anyone has a ticket left, I really, really want so much to go.
    Love, Angelika
