Take a look at what the press have been saying about Take That's brand new album...

As you know by now, Take That made history this week, as Progress became the fastest selling album of the century, selling nearly 520,000 in it's first week on sale.

The press have continued to post a selection of outstanding reviews off and online, which we'd like to share with you all.

Praise for Take That's first album as a five-piece for 15 years has been all over the net, with The Guardian online awarding the album four stars out of five and the Sunday Times Culture describing it 'as close to being perfect as makes no odds', 'sonically audacious, lyrically revealing, artistically a triumph' and 'in a word, wow'.

The Independent are equally impressed with the band's new sound, explaining that 'rather than pop balladry, the album leans heavily on electronic beats and textures'.

The BBC describes the tracks as a combination of 'bombastic stadium rock, sleazy funk, up-tempo RnB, operatic techno, Bowie-esque whimsy and demented disco', which they call the 'most exciting record its creators have ever been involved in'.

At what marks a brand new chapter for the band, Progress has had everyone talking.

Check out a few more quotes from the press…

Attitude - 'Progress is a big, meaty, knowing, grown-up pop record' (4/5)

The Sun Buzz - 'The boys are definitely back in town…You're in for a real treat'

Heat - 'Take That have blown our minds with a completely new sound' 'The boys have upped their game' (5/5)

Evening Standard - 'Robbie's back on board at last - and the band's first album together for 15 years reveals an exciting and unexpected new direction'

Sunday Express - 'That That know exactly what they are doing. The album proves just as addictive as their back catalogue' (4/5)

Imagine a Roland drummashine of the 80-ies paired with synthy pop sound and Abbey road recorded 24 piece strings orchestra as well as electronic house and dance beats embedded in a warm distinctive sound of our times. and now on top of it- lyrics and voices as epic as it can be- a pure very very addictive masterpiece:-)

Progress did make progress. Best album yet. Love the others, Adore this one. It is new but so "theirs" still. I was expecting to fall in love with the album already but it totally surprised me for the best.

Take That are great artists, not just music creators. Contrarily to most musical "artists", they feel themselves and each other so they can reach the audience, feel the audience and the truth is that we feel them too. Not just a great band - Take That are Phenomenal!

To be honest.. As a TT-fan from the first hour I had to get used to it. I fell into something between surprise and shock when I heard it first. But now I absolutly love it! It's so full of energy. I'm looking forward to july (and perhaps Jan, Gaz? <3 )

I think that this a great album, a Take That album. they have done a good work before Robbie join them. They have kept the Take That sound, success and very big shows. Beautiful World and The Circus. They have done it before without Robbie. Now is a new step for them, with Robbie, but not only because of him they are rocking. He is just one member as the other are. I´m very proud of them, they´ll always be my favourite band. CONGRATULATIONS, MY BOYS!!
